I’m so sorry I lied AISorryI Lied

Slide one is the costume you wish you’d worn, lit like a movie poster. Each next slide takes one lie back, until the real photo — the bin bag, the tinfoil, the face paint that went wrong. One photo in.

  • 1 photo
  • 3–4 slides + 9:16 video

About the trend

What is the “I’m so sorry I lied” trend?

It is a TikTok photo carousel that took off in mid-October 2026, just before Halloween. The first slide shows a childhood Halloween costume that looks impossibly good, captioned something like “When I was little I was a butterfly for Halloween”. Every slide after it walks the claim back — “ok, it wasn’t a movie set”, “ok, it was from the store” — and the last one says “I’m so sorry” over the real photo.

The joke only lands if every slide looks like the same picture. So this page does not swap in other photos: it edits yours, from the truth upwards, each lie made from the one before. The kid, the pose and the framing stay put; only the costume and the world around it get more and more impossible.

You get the slides with captions you can rewrite, ready for a TikTok photo carousel, and a short 9:16 video of them. Add the trending sound inside TikTok when you post — that is what joins your post to the trend. Memebop is not affiliated with TikTok or the creators of the original sound.

More for Halloween: the AI zombie video turns two photos into a short outbreak love story. And for after the costumes come off, the Ozil goal AI video puts you in a viral Champions League goal.

Questions

Before you film

How do I do the “I’m so sorry I lied” trend?

Upload a childhood Halloween photo, pick what you will claim you were (a superhero, a princess, a witch…) and choose two or three lie slides. A few minutes later you get the lie slides plus your real photo, captioned, and a 9:16 video of them. Post them on TikTok as a photo carousel and add the trending sound.

How much does it cost?

Each carousel uses 10 credits — two or three AI edits of your photo. You can get credits with $4.99 for 5 carousels (first purchase only), $9.90 for 12 carousels or $24.90 for 35 carousels. If a run fails, the credits go back automatically.

Does the video have the TikTok sound?

No — the video is silent. The trend’s sound belongs to its creator, so you pick it inside TikTok when you post. Doing it there is also what puts your post on the sound’s page with everyone else’s.

Will it change my face?

No. The edits are told to keep the face, hair, pose and framing exactly as they are, and the last slide is your photo untouched.

Can it make me a specific character, like Elsa or Spider-Man?

No — costumes stay generic (an ice princess, a superhero) so the pictures are yours to post. Type any costume you like and it will be made in a generic version.

Can I use a photo of my sibling or my kid?

Yes, if they (or their parent) are happy for it to be posted. No photos of other people’s children or of strangers.
